After alot of patience I have managed to recreate a working traffic light system on the Raspberry Pi using a solderless breadboard and a few jumper connectors.

The set up was simple…

  1. Wire up the breadboard and attach to the Raspberry Pi (whilst making a couple of alterations by using green LED’s instead of the yellow amber light and the second red pedestrian light).
  2. Import the libraries and C code.
  3. Execute the script

I was highly impressed I got this to work first time!
